Prepare cross-border product listings with a clear, repeatable data-quality workflow. LOCALE DESK is a lightweight Python standard-library toolkit that checks UTF-8 CSV listing records against a source-of-truth SKU file and a locale terminology sheet. It creates a sortable findings CSV and a self-contained HTML report for review and handoff.

WHAT IT CHECKS

Eight configured locales: en-US, en-GB, de-DE, fr-FR, es-ES, ja-JP, ko-KR and zh-SG. Checks cover expected currency codes, positive numeric price presence, dimension units and source-size equivalence, missing or duplicate locale rows, variant codes and label collisions, and canonical material/color attributes. A terminology file provides simple preferred/avoid string checks. Every unapproved listing remains flagged for fluent human review; approved status requires reviewer name and date.

WHAT IS INSIDE

Python checker and CLI; three fictional source SKU records; twenty-four draft listing rows across eight locales; terminology CSV; intentionally flawed and structurally corrected samples; actual generated HTML/CSV example reports; three regression tests; practical workflow and evidence guide; three real-content previews; and single-buyer license. The sample run produces five data errors and twenty-four draft-review warnings. The structurally corrected sample has zero data errors but still retains all human-review warnings.

HOW TO USE

Install Python 3.10+, adapt the source SKU, listing and terminology CSVs, run the local checker, resolve factual inconsistencies, then have fluent reviewers approve every locale. No third-party Python dependencies, internet access, API key or store account are required. UTF-8 CSV and Python work on suitable Windows, macOS and Linux installations; use a modern browser for HTML output.
