Scent Atlas — a quiet instrument for noticing

A 30-card subjective-preference deck for fragrance enthusiasts who want to describe and compare their own scent impressions. It offers observation prompts, not prescribed pairings or rules. No two people need to describe a scent in the same way; uncertainty and a question mark are welcome notes.

Inside the deck

• 12 original scent-family lenses: citrus/bright, aromatic/herbal, green/stemmed, floral/petalled, fruit/juicy, gourmand/edible, spice/warmth, wood/grain, resin/amber, musk/soft focus, marine/mineral, and smoke/leather.
• 10 neutral compare-and-notice cards to explore first impressions, shared ground, contrast, texture, space, changes between moments, sequence as a variable, surprise, attention, and revisiting.
• 6 blank combination-test cards for your own scent/object names, sequence or context, first notice, returning detail, and next question.
• 2 non-prescriptive use/reflection cards, plus a two-entry printable pair record sheet in each print-cut paper-size file.

Files you receive

Use & compatibility

Choose a scent-family lens, pair it with a neutral comparison question, and record anything you want to revisit. Print-cut files have light card outlines; the cards are approximately 3.56 × 5 inches on A4/Letter sheets. The separate 5×7 file has one 5×7-inch card per page. Print at Actual Size/100% with Fit to Page turned off when accurate sizing matters; printer margins and trim can vary. PDFs are standard, text-selectable files made for local PDF readers. The screen deck is US Letter sized. No account, app, external service, or API is needed. Fillable PDF fields are not included; use a PDF annotation tool if desired. The text file is the plain-text alternative. Compatibility with every device, screen reader, annotation app, printer, or print shop has not been tested.
