Write report-card comments faster. This bank has 306 original comments for K–8 teachers, each with an ID, subject, grade band, type and tone, so you can find the right starting point in a few clicks and make it your own.

WHAT’S INCLUDED (one zip)

• Spreadsheet (.xlsx) with three sheets: Start Here (how to use), Comments (the full bank with a filter arrow on every column header and a header row that stays in view) and My Picks.

• My Picks: type a student’s first name and up to 40 comment IDs. Each comment appears with [Name] replaced by the name, plus a character count for each comment and a total. An ID that isn’t in the bank is rejected with a message.

• Printable PDF list in US Letter and A4 (22 pages each), grouped by subject and then by type, with a tick box and the same ID beside every comment. Black and white.

• README and font license.

• Comments use the placeholder [Name] (303 of 306; three short closing lines have no name in them). Where a pronoun is needed, comments use they / them / their. A Pronouns column marks the comments that use no pronoun at all.

• Comments are kind and specific. They describe what a student does and what comes next.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Tested in LibreOffice Calc. Google Sheets not tested. Excel not tested.

• No macros. Printing on a real printer was not tested; print the PDF at 100% (Actual size).

• These are starting points. Read each comment and adjust it so it is true for your student.

• This is a digital file. Nothing is shipped.
