A seven-day plan for mixing one song in a home studio. One session per day, in the order that actually matters.

What's inside

• Day 1 Balance — a static fader mix before any processing.
• Day 2 Drums and low end — phase before EQ, mono checks, kick/sub relationship.
• Day 3 Vocals — lead-first workflow, de-essing before compression, fader automation over over-compression.
• Day 4 Depth and space — placing elements front-to-back with one reverb family.
• Day 5 Tone and glue — saturation and bus compression, subtly, in the right order.
• Day 6 Automation and detail — riding sections, mute-checking every element.
• Day 7 Reference and commit — multi-system checks, matched-loudness references, printing with the master bus off.

Who it's for

Home-studio producers and artists mixing their own songs who want an order to work in and the few decisions that matter.

Honest note

This is a workflow, not a guarantee of a professional result. It will not fix a bad recording, arrangement or performance. It stops the most common home-studio mistakes.
