Most budget templates are English-only and Gregorian-only. Dakhl-o-Kharj puts English and Persian labels side by side and shows every date in both calendars. You can plan your money the way you live: you get paid on Gregorian dates, but Nowruz, Yalda and family occasions follow the Shamsi calendar.

Enter your pay, bills, everyday spending budgets and savings goals once. The planner then builds a day-by-day forecast of your balance up to your next payday and a 12-month overview.

Features

- Jalali + Gregorian dates side by side on the Forecast, Monthly, Savings, Setup and Dashboard sheets. Supported range: 1403/01/01 to the end of 1410 (2024-03-20 to 2032-03-19). Choose Latin digits (1405/08/08) or Persian digits (۱۴۰۵/۰۸/۰۸).

- Built-in date converter: Jalali to Gregorian and Gregorian to Jalali.

- Day-by-day forecast: running balance for each day of the pay period (up to 35 days), covering money in, bills, daily spending and savings transfers. Low-balance and overdrawn days are flagged.

- 12-month overview: add one-off income or costs for special months, such as Yalda night, a Nowruz party or a tax refund.

- Savings goals: up to 8 goals, each with a target, monthly amount, optional target date (also shown in Jalali), progress, months to go, and the amount needed per month to reach the date. A next-Nowruz countdown is included. The example file has a Nowruz trip goal and an Eidi gifts goal.

- Dashboard: monthly summary, pay period totals, lowest projected balance and its date in both calendars, this month's spending against budget, and goal progress.

- Currency label: choose USD, CAD, EUR, GBP or AUD. This is a label only and does no exchange-rate conversion.

- Pay schedules: monthly, four-weekly, fortnightly or weekly, plus an optional next-payday override.

- Hard to break: you type only in the light yellow cells. Formula cells are locked without a password, so you can unlock them to change the layout.

- No macros, add-ins or sign-up. Jalali dates come from a lookup table inside the file. Every row of that table was checked against the open-source jdatetime library.

Compatibility

- Microsoft Excel 2010 or later (Windows and Mac), standard .xlsx.

- LibreOffice Calc: all formulas were recalculated and checked in LibreOffice.

- Google Sheets: upload the file, then choose File > Save as Google Sheets. The file uses only standard functions that Google Sheets supports. Sheet protection and progress bars may not carry over.

- The sheet layout is left-to-right with bilingual (English + Persian) labels and headers. The Persian text on the Start Here sheet is right-aligned.

- Persian text looks best with the free Vazirmatn font, but any Persian-capable font works.

- This is a digital download. Nothing physical is shipped.
