## The problem

Up to **87% of creators have been paid late or experienced payment

issues** (payment-platform figures cited in Campaign's 2026 investigation).

A Tipalti survey cited by Digiday found **56% of creators reported late

payments on top of already-long terms** — net-60 is the most common term,

and terms stretch to 120 days. **41% of creators name payment delays their

The industry is moving — impact.com cut its brand overdue-payment

suspension window from 60 to 40 days on 1 October 2026, and TikTok launched

One Pay (brand-deal payments in under 30 days, zero fees) on 5 October. But

platforms solve the RAILS, not the TERMS. Direct brand deals still run on

paperwork — and most creators sign the brand's template without a single

payment-protection clause in it.
