Write down the price of each item a few times before Black Friday (Friday, Nov 27, 2026), then type the sale price. The spreadsheet compares the sale price with the prices you recorded and with your own target price, and shows a verdict. It works for the Monday after (Nov 30) and other holiday sales too.

This is a record-keeping tool. It does not look up prices, find deals or tell you what to buy, and it does not promise any savings. Every verdict is based only on the prices and target price you type in.

• Watch List – up to 60 items: item, store, link or note, category, priority (Must, Want or Maybe), regular price, your target price, 4 dated price checks before the sale, sale price and quantity

• Calculations – lowest price seen in your checks, % off vs regular, % off vs lowest seen, savings vs regular price (for comparison only) and the verdict

• Budget – your total budget, planned spend for Must, Want and Maybe items, and what is left after Must and after Must + Want

HOW THE VERDICT WORKS (one item at one store)

• Real deal – the sale price is below the lowest price you recorded AND at or below your target price

• Lower, not at target – below the lowest price you recorded, but above your target (or no target typed)

• Same as before – equal to the lowest price you recorded

• Not a deal – above the lowest price you recorded

• No checks logged – a sale price but no earlier price to compare with

The verdict stays blank until you type a sale price.

GOOD TO KNOW

• One store per item: it logs prices over time; it does not compare several stores side by side.

• Typed entries are checked (no negative prices, check dates from Aug 1 to Dec 31, 2026, priority from the list); text pasted into a cell can bypass this check.

• No macros. Digital files only; nothing is shipped.

• Tested in LibreOffice Calc. Google Sheets not tested. Excel not tested.
