Anyone can paste a hundred prompts into a text file and call it a pack. That is why the prompt pack shelf feels so uneven: next to a carefully tested system you will find a list of adjectives that any image model would ignore. The good news is that the difference is visible before you pay, if you know where to look. This guide explains what a good AI art prompt pack contains in 2026, what it should cost, and which packs on Getly show their working.
The shelf in numbers
We measured the AI art prompt packs shelf on Getly, together with the Midjourney and Stable Diffusion prompt categories, on 29 October 2026: 99 active listings.
- Price: the median paid pack costs $4.99. A quarter cost $2.99 or less, three quarters $6.99 or less. 3.0% are free.
- What is inside: 55.6% of listings ship a .txt file, 48.5% include PNG images (usually example outputs), 31.3% ship a .zip and 26.3% a PDF guide.
- Licence: 97.0% state a licence on the page, and 92.7% of those allow commercial use. Prompt packs are one of the most commercially open shelves we have.
Read the format line together with the price. A $15 pack that is a single .txt file has to be very good text. A $3 pack with a prompt template, four example images and a how-to note may be the better buy.
What a good pack contains
1. Example outputs for every idea
A prompt is a recipe; the image is the proof that it cooks. A good pack shows at least one real output per prompt family, ideally generated by the seller with the prompt exactly as sold. Cultural Dance Portraits is small but honest: a reusable prompt template, four finished images in distinct directions, an examples file and a separate how-to note. You see what you are buying in the file list itself.
2. A method, not just a list
The hardest problem in AI art is consistency: the same character in a new pose, the same light across a series. Packs that solve it teach a workflow. Anime Character Consistency Lab is built around a create, anchor, vary, repair and produce sequence with a character bible and drift repair, and the 100 prompt recipes hang off that method. A list of 100 unrelated anime prompts would cost the same and teach nothing.
3. Variables you can swap
The best prompts have clear slots: subject, setting, lens, film stock, mood. You change the slot and keep the structure that works. When a pack hard-codes everything into one long sentence, every new image means rewriting from scratch.
4. Real domain knowledge
"Make it vintage" is not knowledge. Silver Salt Vol. I describes what each film emulsion physically does to light (halation on bright lamps, sun-bleached warmth, base fog of expired stock) and ships a PDF guide plus the prompts as plain text. That is the kind of pack that improves your eye, not only your outputs.
5. A practical deliverable for sellers and marketers
Some packs target a job rather than a style. The AI Product Photography Kit, Perfume Edition pairs professional product-shot prompts with finished high-resolution example images for listings and ads. Note that it ships as a .rar archive: Windows users need 7-Zip or WinRAR, macOS opens it with a free extractor. That is the kind of detail worth checking in the file list.
6. Scale with structure
Large collections can be worth it if they are organised. GREEK MYTHOS states 1,288 prompts grouped by gods, heroes, creatures, places and artifacts. A big number is only useful when you can find the prompt you need in seconds, so look for that grouping in the description.
Which model is it for?
Prompts are not fully portable. Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Flux, Leonardo and ChatGPT image generation read the same words differently: parameters like Midjourney's aspect and stylise flags mean nothing elsewhere, Stable Diffusion relies more on negative prompts and weights, and newer models follow plain sentences better than keyword chains. A good listing names the model it was tested on. If it says "works with all AI tools", assume it was tested on one and expect to adjust.
A buyer's checklist
- Example images exist and look like what you want, not stock photos.
- The model is named, plus any parameters or settings used.
- The format is clear: .txt for copying, PDF for reading, both is ideal. Check the total size: a pack advertising dozens of example images should not be a few kilobytes.
- The licence line says what you need. If you will sell the images, print them on products or use them for clients, look for "Commercial use allowed" or "Extended". The image rights also depend on the AI service's own terms, which no prompt seller can change.
- The description explains the method in its own words, not a wall of hashtags.
- The refund window appears in the product FAQ; it is never shorter than 30 days on Getly.
Red flags
- "10,000 prompts" for a few dollars with no samples. Volume without curation is a word generator.
- Example images that clearly do not match the prompts (different style, a watermark from somewhere else).
- Promises of "viral", "guaranteed sales" or "passive income". A prompt pack is a tool, not a business.
- Any request to contact the seller in a messenger to receive the prompts. On Getly the files arrive at checkout; delivery "later by Telegram" is not allowed for paid listings.
Buying on Getly
Pay by card or with USDT/USDC; no account is required. Every file arrives in the receipt email and stays in your library, including future versions if the seller adds prompts. If a pack is materially not as described, request a refund from your order and the Getly team reviews it. To compare more options, browse AI art prompt packs and Midjourney prompts, and judge each listing by its examples first and its prompt count last.
