Black Friday 2026: What to Write This Week (and What to Leave Until November)

October 5, 2026

Black Friday is 27 November 2026. For a shop with no agency and no freelancer, the useful window opens six weeks earlier: offer maths now, the waitlist through October, the sequence and ads in early November, then the sale itself and the morning after. The shops that lose it rarely write bad copy — they write it on the 26th.

The plan, week by week

  • Week of 5 Oct — offer maths. Work out the floor price. Everything else depends on it.
  • Week of 12 Oct — build the waitlist. Early access is a better promise than a bigger discount.
  • Week of 19 Oct — write the six emails. Draft them now, send them in three weeks.
  • Week of 26 Oct — landing page blocks. The page must exist before the ads do.
  • Week of 2 Nov — ads and SMS. Meta, Google, TikTok, and two SMS lines.
  • Week of 16 Nov — dry run. Test the links, the discount code, the countdown end time.
  • 27–30 Nov — send. Teaser, VIP, main day, weekend, Cyber Monday, last call.
  • The 12 prompts

    1. Offer maths. You are a retail pricing analyst. My average order value is [AOV], my margin is [x]% and my best seller is [product]. Give me three Black Friday offer structures — percentage off, bundle, gift-with-purchase — with the floor price I must not go below. One table, no rounding down.

    2. Waitlist. Write a Black Friday early-access email: the sale date, what is in it, one reason to join the list now, and a 3-line P.S. 120 words, one CTA, three subject lines under 45 characters, no fake scarcity.

    3. Six-email sequence. Draft my Black Friday sequence from 24 to 30 November: teaser (24th), VIP early access (26th), the main day (27th), weekend reminder (29th), Cyber Monday (30th), and the last call. Under 150 words each, one CTA each, subject line plus preview text.

    4. Ad copy. Write 8 Meta ads, 6 Google RSA lines and 5 TikTok hooks for [product] at [discount]%. Headlines under 30 characters, no "limited time only", one clear benefit per line.

    5. Landing page blocks. Build my Black Friday landing page: the offer headline, one sentence of proof, the 4 best-seller blocks, a countdown honest about the real end time, the FAQ (shipping, returns, when the price changes) and the CTA.

    6. SMS. Write 3 SMS messages for 27 November under 160 characters each: waitlist, morning of, last three hours. Include the STOP line and no fake countdown.

    7. Social batch. Write 10 Black Friday posts for [platform]: 4 product, 2 behind-the-scenes of the prep, 2 myth-busting about my category, 1 early access, 1 the-day-of. Hook in the first line, at most three hashtags.

    8. The morning after. Write the 28 November email: thank the buyers, give the non-buyers one honest reason the offer still makes sense today, and hand both groups a next step. 110 words.

    9. Cyber Monday reset. Rewrite my 27 November email for Cyber Monday without sounding like a repeat: new angle, same offer, shorter, one new proof point.

    10. Abandoned cart at peak. Write a 2-part cart recovery for the Black Friday weekend: part 1 after 45 minutes (helpful, no discount), part 2 after 20 hours (objection handling). 90 words each.

    11. Why this, not that. Write 500 words comparing my three offer options [paste] for a shop with [list size] subscribers. Say which one I should run on 27 November, which on Cyber Monday, and what I should never discount.

    12. The debrief. Here are my results [orders, revenue, emails sent, open rate, ad spend]. Tell me which channel earned its slot, where the funnel leaked, and the one change to make before December.

    Feed it real numbers

Give the model your average order value, your margin, last year's discount and your list size first. Never let it invent a price, a date or a customer count — and ask for plain text so the output drops straight into your email tool or page builder.
