Log your homeschool days and hours once and see how far each child is from your state's instructional-time requirement.

What it does

• 12 state options with fixed hour/day minimums across 8 states:

  • Missouri (home school / FPE school: 1,000 h, 600 core, 400 core at home)

  • Pennsylvania (180 days OR 900/990 h)

  • New York (180 days + 900 h grades 1-6 / 990 h grades 7-12)

  • North Dakota (175 days of 4+ h)

  • Maine (175 days)

  • Iowa (licensed teacher supervision: 148 days, 37 per quarter)

  • West Virginia (county-approved option: 900 h)

  • Nebraska (1,032 / 1,080 h)

• Every rule lists its citation, an official source link and the date we verified it (2026-10-16).

• Up to 5 children, each with their own state option and school year (up to 24 months).

• A 1,000-row daily log. Row checks flag bad dates or hours, subjects not in your list, duplicate entries, more than 24 h in a day, and children who are not set up.

• Per-child summary: total, core and at-home hours, days counted, remaining hours/days, and an OK/CHECK status with the reason. Hours by subject and by month.

• Protected sheets (no password; protection holds in LibreOffice and Excel, Google Sheets import drops it).

• A formula check warns if a calculated cell is changed to a different value, if a state threshold on the Rules sheet is changed, or if data is entered beyond capacity.

• Limits: it can't see a cell overwritten with the same value, or several deliberate edits made together (including a cell and its hidden copy). It is a safety net against accidental typing, not tamper-proofing. Details in the README.

• Fictional example data that is easy to clear.

Compatibility: Tested in LibreOffice and Google Sheets (not Excel). No macros.
