Ecosystem Generator lets you build rich natural environments directly
inside Blender. Procedurally generate trees, bushes, and grass with
full control over every parameter, then scatter them across any
terrain to create forests, meadows, parks, and tropical landscapes in
minutes.
Tree Generation
5 tree species, each with distinct growth patterns:
- Oak — broad crown with balanced proportions
- Pine — coniferous silhouette with cone-shaped foliage
- Birch — thin white trunk with delicate branching
- Palm — curved trunk with tropical fronds
- Willow — weeping style with drooping branches
Every tree is fully customizable — adjust height, trunk radius, branch
levels (1–8), branch length, leaf density, leaf size, and randomness.
Seed control ensures reproducible results.
Bush Generation
4 bush types for diverse vegetation layers:
- Round — clean spherical shape for manicured gardens
- Wild — natural irregular clusters for untamed landscapes
- Hedge — trimmed box-like appearance for urban scenes
- Flowering — decorative bushes with colorful blooms
Control size, density, branch count, and leaf size to match any scene.
Grass Generation
4 grass types covering ground cover needs:
- Lawn — short, uniform grass for parks and gardens
- Wild — tall with high variation for natural fields
- Wheat — golden stalks with seed heads for agricultural scenes
- Reeds — very tall with fluffy tops for wetlands and riverbanks
Fine-tune blade height, width, bend, density, and variation. Generate
single clumps or spread patches across larger areas.
Advanced Scatter System
Populate any mesh surface with vegetation using three distribution
algorithms:
- Random — basic random placement weighted by face area
- Poisson Disk — even spacing with minimum distance guarantee for
natural-looking distribution
- Grid — regular grid with jitter for structured layouts
Scatter features include:
- Min/max scale randomization
- Random rotation
- Align to surface normal for slopes and uneven terrain
- Weight paint support — control density with vertex groups
- Minimum distance constraints to prevent overlap
- Scatter existing objects or auto-generate vegetation mix
Environment Presets
One-click presets configure all parameters for common biomes:
- Forest — oak trees, wild bushes, dark green undergrowth
- Meadow — wild grass, flowering bushes, bright warm colors
- Tropical — palm trees, dense vegetation, lush greens
- Park — birch trees, trimmed hedges, short lawn grass
Each preset sets tree type, bush style, grass variant, and color
palette to create a cohesive environment instantly.
Automatic Materials
Every generated object receives a proper Principled BSDF material:
- Bark with high roughness for realistic wood surfaces
- Leaves with subsurface scattering for light translucency
- Grass blades with natural color variation
- Flower materials with custom colors
Primary and secondary colors are customizable from the panel for full
art direction.
Performance
Scatter system uses linked duplicates for memory-efficient instancing.
Adjustable density and count parameters let you balance visual
richness with viewport performance. Seed-based generation means you
can iterate quickly without losing good results.
